Establish a Fund

You can establish a funds in your name or in memory of a loved one during your lifetime or through a bequest in your Will.

Establishing a Fund with OCF is easy and effective. We will help you determine which type of fund best fits your needs and work with you to set up an agreement incorporating:

  • your charitable interests,
  • your time horizon,
  • your degree of involvement, and
  • your fund naming (anonymous or named)

Once the fund reaches the specific fund type minimum, annual granting can support any registered charity or other qualified donee as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency in Oxford County.

Types of funds:

Community Fund

Your gift is used to meet ever-changing community needs and priorities, including those that may not even be known at the time you made your gift. OCF evaluates all aspect of our community well-being – arts and culture, environment, health and social services, youth and more. Your trust in OCF makes it possible for us to make decisions in response to our community’s most pressing needs and priorities. The minimum gift required to set up an Unrestricted Named Community Fund is $10,000.

You or your named successor can make choices with OCF annually about which charities and initiatives in Oxford County you wish to support. The minimum gift required to set up a Donor Advised Named Fund is $50,000.

With a minimum donation of $25,000, a donor may designate specifically the charitable causes that they wish to support.  In the future, should the named causes no longer exist, the Foundation is bound to ensure that the original intent of the donor is met.

You identify your area(s) of interest when you establish your Fund. OCF Grants Committee makes the decisions about which organizations to support based on interests identified by you. The minimum gift required to set up a Field of Interest Fund is $10,000.

Charitable organizations can establish an endowment fund to provide a permanent source of funding for their organization. Donors who wish to leave a legacy to their favourite charity benefit from knowing a trusted organization is managing their Fund so the charity can concentrate on its community mission.

Operation Sharing Fund

Donors are welcome to create an emerging fund with an initial donation and a plan to reach the minimum required to achieve the threshold of one of the funds mentioned above.
